The nation’s leading utilities recognize that their mission includes more than being a reliable provider of energy services. It also means being a responsible member of the communities they serve and working to protect and sustain the environment. As an important part of fulfilling this commitment, many utilities have adopted the use of biodegradable bio-based fluid to some extent or exclusively.

More than 50,000 new and retrofilled bio-fluid-filled transformers are in use today, on every continent. The number of bio-fluid-filled transformers purchased by each of the following utilities varies. Many of these utilities have committed to purchasing all or most of their new distribution transformer units filled with bio-based fluid.
